Palin: wrong woman, wrong message - Los Angeles Times

Gloria Steinem discusses McCain's choice for running mate.  I have to agree with her- just because McCain chose a woman does not mean he or his party stand for women's rights.  I, in fact, find it insulting that he can chose a "token female" and think he can sway educated voters who originally backed Clinton, especially when his choice goes against much of what Clinton stood for.  Read the article- thanks, Kim, for the forward!

Matt went out and took some pics of the Ethan fire at sunset this evening. It has moved east of us now and stayed south the whole time (thank God). It did restart this afternoon and burned past the fire line that the firefighters dug. We're still watching intently. Check out the rest of his pics on his Flickr page.
